Sweet success for Ice Cream Treats

A premium ice cream and frozen yogurt producer is this year’s winner of the Cavan Enterprise Award for 2019.
Ice Cream Treats Ltd took the top prize overall and will now represent Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Cavan at the 21st National Enterprise Awards on Wednesday, May 29, in the Mansion House in Dublin.
Established in 2013, Ice Cream Treats is based in Cavan Enterprise Centre where they manufacture award-winning, premium ice cream and frozen yogurts for supply to the retail and food service sectors. Already known for their Yomega3 frozen yogurt range, which they export to international markets, the company has also recently launched its MOO’D brand of ice creams for Musgraves stores across Ireland.
Other winners at the Cavan Enterprise Awards held at The Olde Post Inn in Cloverhill included JPC Mechanical Ltd, Best Start-Up Award. The company manufactures pre-fabricated pipework solutions for large scale industrial and commercial buildings from its base in Swanlinbar. EMWORX Ltd won the Innovation Award for designing and manufacturing bespoke, integrated and seamless, automated software and telemetry services for industries in the utility sectors, at their facility in Cootehill.
Judging for the national title is taking place in April and May and Ice Cream Treats Ltd will be competing against 30 other finalists from every local authority area for a share of the €40,000 prize fund. Categories this year include ‘Best Export Business,’ ‘Best Start Up Business’ and ‘Innovation,’ in addition to eight regional awards.
The Cavan Enterprise Awards by LEO Cavan took place as part of Local Enterprise Week 2019. There are over 370 events taking place across the country for this year’s Local Enterprise Week, being organised by the network of LEOs nationwide.
Speaking during Local Enterprise Week Marcella Rudden, head of enterprise with LEO Cavan, said: “Ice Cream Treats Ltd has already become a success story and the judges were particularly impressed by their success in domestic and export markets. The National Enterprise Awards are a great barometer for what the Local Enterprise Offices are doing and every year the standard is getting better and better and we are delighted to have Ice Cream Treats Ltd representing us in Dublin in May.”
The awards were just one of the many highlights of Local Enterprise Week, which ran from March 4-8.
