Gardai investigate spate of burglaries

Gardaí in Cavan are appealing for witnesses in relation to a series of burglaries at properties across the region over the past week.

Premises broken into include both commercial and residential.

Cavan Equestrian Centre at Cullies near Cavan Town was broken into on May 1 last; while a furniture shop was broken into at Derryginny, on the Ballinamore Road out of Ballyconnell between May 2-3.

In the second of the incidents, damage was done to property.

Gardaí are also appealing for witnesses after a house was broken into at Sean Lee Drive on May 3 last. Thieves gained entry to the property by forcing a backdoor.

 

Thefts investigated

Meanwhile, Gardaí are also appealing for information in relation to a number of thefts that include four fencing posts that went missing overnight from the Morrissey Park at Barrack Hill in Belturbet where workmen were installing fencing on April 30 last.

A wheelie bin was been reported missing from outside Castlegate Apartments in Ballyconnell, the incident occurring May 2, and finally, a definite line of enquiry is being followed by gardaí in relation to a theft from an ambulance at Cavan General Hospital on May 5 last.
