Brexit blamed for cut in July milk price by Lakeland

Lakeland Dairies has announced its July milk price, reducing the rate by 0.5c/l on the previous month's offering.
It follows a meeting of the Board of Lakeland Dairies met on Tuesday, August 13.
In the Republic of Ireland (ROI), a price of 30.78c/l (including VAT) has been agreed for milk supplied in July.
In Northern Ireland, a price of 25.25p/l will be paid for July supplies.

They add that against the backdrop of “weak demand for butter” as well as “Brexit uncertainty”, not to mention geo-political trade tensions and significant euro-sterling fluctuations.

“Lakeland Dairies will continue to closely monitor the market in the weeks ahead.”
