Parents cooped up with their kids in ongoing isolation due to restrictions around the spread of the Covid-19 virus are coming up with more and more novel methods to keep their families entertained.

Martin and Aine Doonan last week shared footage of their little four-year-old boy’s cute reaction trying out the graphical power of virtual reality for the first time.

Such technology has exploded in popularity in recent years, allowing many homes to live out their wildest dreams in the immersiveness of VR, right from the comfort of their own homes.

For little Mathew, dad Martin set up a virtual roller-coaster, and for added realism placed his son on a kitchen chair, moving it in time with the dips and and rolls of the ride.

“He was so excited when we put it on,” says Martin of Mathew's reaction.

His delighted shrieks of joy and excited observations of everything fro virtual balloons and gummie bears are are truly heartwarming.

Mathew is the second youngest, with an older brother Alex (6) and little sister Megan (1).
