Cavan LGFA share 'Blue Heart for frontline workers

The Cavan Ladies Gaelic Football Association is sharing a 'Blue Heart' in solidarity and support of frontline workers battling against the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

In an emotional video posted online, the local LGFA say that in March 2020 pitches and stands “fell silent” across the region as Covid-19 “changed our lives immeasurably. But one group of people, our frontline workers, deserve our support and our appreciation as they play their hearts out on our behalf.”

The video, posted on the LGFA's social media page, includes photographs of local teams arm in arm, with the message: 'We at Cavan LGFA are posting this video and a 'Blue Heart' as a token of our appreciation and support to you all.'

They also include the #TogetherWeAreStronger hashtag.

The video continues to state that Cavan LGFA stand together in support of our amazing frontline workers.

'We admire all your hard work and send our love and support during these difficult times'

It signs off with a message to say: 'To all our frontline staff... our heroes... stay strong, stay safe and thank you'

The LGFA add: “We walk this journey with you from the safety of our homes as you fight to keep us healthy. We cannot shake your hands but our hearts are bursting with love for your efforts. We are with you, we appreciate all you are doing for us and we hope that in the very near future that you will cheer us on from the stands.”

Only yesterday (Thursday, April 2) was it reported that local Lacken ladies player, and former Armagh All-Ireland winner Marian McGuinnes has tested positive test for Covid-19 virus.

Marian works as a physio at Cavan General Hospital.

McGuinness would have been jetting off on the 2020 TG4 All Star tour but for the diagnosis.
