Draws made for LGFA club championships

Excitement builds ahead of August throw-in

The draw for the Keogan’s Imperial Cavan Ladies Senior Football Championship was made last Tuesday evening and sees last year’s finalists Crosserlough and Mullahoran in separate groups.

The holders will face off against Templeport, Lacken and Gowna in Group A while a very strong-looking Group B consists of Mullahoran, Lurgan, Arva-Killeshandra and Templeport.

In all, 13 teams will take their chance in the Kiernan's Service Stations Intermediate Championship. Group A includes Ballyhaise, Bailieborough, Cornafean and Mountnugent-Munterconnaught, with Belturbet, Lavey and Ballymachugh in Group B.

Group C consists of Castlerahan-Denn, Kingscourt and Drumlane, with St Killian’s, Knockbride and St Finbarr’s making up Group D.

Meanwhile, there are eight teams in the Fresh Today Junior Championship. Killygarry B, Shannon Gaels, Crosserlough B and Shercock are in Group A and Butlersbridge, Lacken B, Cavan Gaels and Drumgoon fill out Group B.

The championship start on Sunday, August 9 with the senior and junior finals down for decision on September 12 and the intermediate final scheduled for September 19.
