'We are all in this together'
County stars of all codes come together
Pictured at Kingspan Breffni on Monday evening last were representatives of all GAA codes in Cavan, Matthew Smith (handball), Sean Óg Brady (rounders), Erinn Galligan (camogie), Conor Smith (football), Neasa Byrd (ladies football) and Matthew Hynes (hurling).
The players came together in order to highlight the message that all of the GAA codes are coming together in order to ensure a safe return to action.
“We had a great turn-out and every code represented. I think it’s important in the circumstances that every code works together. These are unreal times, we have nine or 10 weeks to play off as much as we possibly can in all of our codes,” stated county board chairman Kieran Callaghan.
“We have limited referees, limited facilities so it is going to be challenging but we have proved in what we have done so far that we can do that. We have worked hard on coming together with plans jointly and I think that’s so important – we are all in this together. I think it’s a great motto, that’s what the GAA is all about.
“The weather is one of the biggest challenges and obviously not getting a resurgence of Covid-19. Please God we won’t, the Irish people have done great work and we want to have a safe environment for our games, our players, supporters and officials and we will work together to make sure that happens.”
