Positive outlook for next week

It looks as if the intermittent rain may continue for the nesx couple of days, but Met Eireann is predicting that more settled weather is on the way next week.

The metrological service say that after a mostly dry start with some hazy sunshine, further outbreaks of rain will spread from the Atlantic today, giving some heavy falls and a risk of some surface flooding. However, northernmost areas may hold dry. The highest temperatures will only reach 14 to 16 degrees with light breezes.

Tonight the rain is expected to clear southeastwards overnight allowing cooler, drier conditions extend from the north. Minimum temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees in moderate northerly winds.

For tomorrow (Thursday) the weather is expected to be a bright day with sunny spells and a few showers. Highest afternoon temperatures will range between 14 and 18 degrees in mostly moderate northerly breezes.

The Met Eireann outlook is that some rain is expected on Monday but there is a trend for warmer and more settled weather to become established by mid-week.
