1,227 working family payments paid in Cavan

The figures, recently released by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection are valid up to the end of May 2020, and cover the Covid lockdown period also.

There are a total of 1,227 households in Co Cavan in receipt of the working family payment.

The Working Family Payment (WFP) is an income tested, in work payment, which provides additional financial support to employees on low earnings with children.

The figures, recently released by the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection are valid up to the end of May 2020, and cover the Covid lockdown period also.

There were a total of 51,247 families in receipt of WFP nationally as of that date, and figures may fluctuate from week to week.

For the same period, there were 968 households in Co Monaghan in receipt of the payment.

Elsewhere across the region, there were 751 households in Longford, 363 in Leitrim, and 1,951 in Meath.
