WATCH: Amazing video of Cavan-Fermanagh border life

The focus of the film is local man Ignatius Maguire, an advocate of traditional farming methods.

The county museum in Fermanagh has shared a treasure trove of old footage from life in the Border region, made available online for the public to view online by Northern Ireland Screen.

The footage, courtesy of the UTV, ITV and Westway Films Digital Film Archive, was captured by the hugely popular Lesser Spotted Ulster programme back in 1998.

The focus of the film is local man Ignatius Maguire, an advocate of traditional farming methods.

'What a wonderful way to feel about home, where Fermanagh, Cavan & Leitrim meet at Lough MacNean,' the Fermanagh Museum says of one of Maguire's view of his picturesque surrounds.

When asked for his thoughts on the subject by Lesser Spotted Ulster presenter Joe Mahon, local man Maguire responded: “Well this place gets more and more precious to me as I get older...Aye, I wish I were 20 yrs younger now and I could get more of that.”
