Weather set to improve in the afternoon

Today will start mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle across Ulster, according to Met Éireann. A clearance to drier and brighter weather will soon develop and it'll become mostly dry through to afternoon. Highest temperatures around 17 degrees with moderate southerly breezes, increasing fresh to strong along coasts later.

Rain will become widespread overnight tonight and will be heavy at times. Lowest temperatures 11 to 13 degrees with moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, will start out with heavy rain clearing to sunny spells. There'll be another spell of heavy rain by the end of the afternoon in Donegal, extending east later. Highest temperatures 17 to 19 degrees with fresh to strong southerly winds.
