It is with regret that we note the deaths of the following people from Counties Cavan and Monaghan in the past 24 hours as reported on RIP.ie

Harry Rowntree

Turners Hill, Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Harry Rowntree, Turners Hill, Kingscourt, Co Cavan, peacefully at home, Tuesday, 15th September, 2020, in his 92nd year. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Victoria (Venie), sons Trevor, Maurice and Robert, daughters Anne and Gillian, their partners Linda, Eva, Gemma and Michael. Predeceased by his son-in-law Joe, Harry will be sadly missed by his sister Lillian, brother-in-law John, sisters-in-law Winnie, Lily and Pat, his adored grandchildren Owen, Hannah, Luke, Liam, Cian, Mark and his partner Pauline, Robert, Sarah, Mateo, Rachael, Amy and Isobel, great grandchildren Harry and Mia, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, his carers Mary C, Mary D, Geraldine and Linda and his wide circle of friends.

Safe in the arms of Jesus.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings a private Funeral Service and burial will take place for family on Friday, 18th September in St Ernan's Church, Kingscourt at 3pm. Harry's funeral cortege will leave his home and travel via Main St, to St Ernan's Church, Kingscourt arriving at 3pm for private Funeral Service. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to The Asthma Society of Ireland.

Friends and neighbours are welcome to line the route in a safe and socially distanced manner as a mark of respect.

John Denneny

Church Hill, Granard, Longford / Finea, Cavan

John Denneny, Church Hill, Granard, Co. Longford and late Maughera, Finea. Sunday, 13th, September 2020, after a short illness at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin. Predeceased by his brother Ambrose. Sadly missed by his sorrowing sons Sean and Oliver, sisters Stella, Philomena and Nuala, brothers Eamon, James, Dessie and Liam, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives neighbours and friends.

May He Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Reilly's Funeral Home Kilcogy Village (N39W1D6) on Wednesday evening from 7pm to 8.30pm. Please adhere to the current social distancing guidelines. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon in St Mary's Church, Carrick. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. In accordance with government and H.S.E. guidelines the Funeral Mass will be private to family and close friends.

Peacefully at her home in the loving care of her family.

Predeceased by her husband Hugh. Much loved mother of Una (Brady), Seamus, Pauline (Sherry) and Ann (Trappe). Devoted grandmother and great grandmother. Sadly missed by her loving son, daughters, daughter-in-law Mary, sons-in-law James, Joe and Adrian, sisters Susan Traynor and Mary McCarville (Smithborough), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and entire circle of family and friends.

Reposing at her home today Tuesday from 3pm until removal on Thursday morning at 10am to arrive at St. Tierney's Church, Roslea for funeral mass at 11am. Burial immediately afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please. Donations if so desired to the Monaghan Alzheimer's Branch and Palliative Care, care of any family member.
