Hopes rise Max and Rocky will be rescued after 48-hour tree top ordeal

Two adventurous kittens stuck more than 30 metres up a tree for 48 hours are to be rescued later this afternoon after a kind hearted tree services company answered a desperate plea for help on a local animal rescue charity's Facebook page.

The Navan-based Last Hope Animal Charity posted frantic Clare Martyn's plea for help after intrepid explorers Max and Rocky went on the climb of their lives without figuring out the way back down.

Clare said: "It's been heartbreaking to see Max and Rocky in distress, but it has been so reassuring to know so many people care. Really appreciate everyone's support. They are still alive and we are talking to them and just being there for them."

Now Cavan Tree Services are due at the location in Mullagh later this afternoon to help get the hungry moggies down.

Stay tuned and we'll bring you updates as we get them...
