William (Jock) Nelson

Ross, Mountnugent, Cavan

It is with great sadness that William ‘Jock’ Nelson, formerly of Ross, Mountnugent and later St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Virginia, passed away peacefully at the home on the 25th September 2020.

Sadly missed by his wife Julia and his four sons, Timothy, Hector, Alistair and Colin, grandchildren, Oliver, Tara, Bertie, Freddie and Zachary, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Gibney's Funeral Home, Oldcastle, for family and very close friends.

Service will take place on Monday 28th September at 11am in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan.

In keeping with the current government guidelines and HSE guidelines, please observe Covid19 restrictions.

Malachy O'Reilly

Kingscourt, Cavan / Shercock, Cavan

Shamrock Drive, Kingscourt (previously of Rebawn, Shercock, Co. Cavan and London, UK).

Died peacefully September 25th in his 87th year at Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home.

Predeceased by his parents George and Brigid, siblings George, Liam, Angela and Nuala.

Deeply regretted by his son Stephen (London), sister-in-law Maisie, nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews and extended family and friends.

Funeral Sunday to arrive at St. Anne’s Church, Killann for Funeral Mass at 4pm with burial afterwards in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Shercock.

Joe Smyth

Finner Avenue, Bundoran, Donegal / Drumkeerin, Leitrim

The death has occurred of Joe Smyth, Finner Avenue, Bundoran, Co.Donegal and formerly of Drumkeerin, Co. Leitrim, peacefully, at North West Hospice, Sligo.

Pre-deceased by his parents Michael and Vera and sister Teresa.

Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Marie, sons Shane and David, daughter in law Trazie, grandchildren Zoe, Lee and Jay, sisters Maureen, Philomena, Josie and Dympna, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Reposing at his home on Saturday from 4pm.

Removal on Monday morning, leaving his home at 10.20am to arrive at The Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.

Burial to follow in St. Ninnidh's Cemetery, Bundoran.

Family flowers only, donations in lieu to the North West Hospice, The Mall, Sligo, c/o Seamus Gallagher Funeral Director or any family member.

In accordance with Government and HSE Guidelines, the wake and funeral will be private to family and close friends.

The family would like to thank you for your understanding at this sad and difficult time.

Patrick Maguire

Archdeaconry Glebe, Kells, Meath

Maguire, Patrick (Paddy) 24th September 2020. Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham and formerly of Archdeaconry Glebe, Kells.

Peacefully after a short battle with cancer.

Paddy will be sadly missed by wife Margaret (known as Joan), sister Mary, sons Karl, Adrian and Darren, daughters-in-law Christina and Veronica, grandchildren Ciaran, Mary, Laura, Megan, Niall and Alex, granddaughter-in-law Siobhån, grandson-in-law Liam, and great-granddaughters Erin and Nancy and all extended family and friends.

Paddy's father John Joseph Maguire was caretaker in Kells Union Workhouse where Paddy lived with his 9 siblings in his early years.

Paddy will be repatriated from Birmingham for Mass in St. Colmcille's Church and burial in St. Colmcille's Cemetery.

Thomas (Tom) O'Brien

Gravelstown, Carlanstown, Kells, Meath

Peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Predeceased by his mam May and dad Benny.

Tom will be very sadly missed by his loving wife Ann, children Caroline, Bernard, Deirdre, Paula, David & Gillian, 15 grandchildren, brother Petie (Swords), daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.

Arriving to the Church of St. Michael, Staholmog on Monday morning for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

House Private at all times due to Covid restrictions.

In compliance with the current HSE guidelines, the funeral will be limited to 50 people.

Please ensure social distancing and public health advice is adhered to.

Tina Sweeney

35 Mulladuff, Smithborough, Monaghan

Tina passed away suddenly today Thursday, 24th September.

Predeceased by her best friend Bill.

Beloved daughter of Carmel and Sean and sister of Niall and Sean.

Tina will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her Partner Lee, parents, brothers, niece Jodie, sister-in-law Oriane, Nialls partner Biddy, aunts, uncles, cousins extended family and by all who knew and loved her.

Tina will be resting at the family home from 8pm this Friday evening. Due to the continued restrictions on public gatherings, Tina's Funeral Mass will take place in the presence of her family on Saturday 26th in St. Mary's Chapel, Magherarney, at 2pm.

Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
