Council to look at dangerous junction near Ballyconnell

Cavan County Council is to look at the dangerous Kilnagher Cross following a discussion about the junction at the September meeting of the Cavan Belturbet Municipal District Authority.

Cathaoirleach Brendan Fay brought the matter to the attention of the authority in a notice of motion. Cllr Fay (Ind) said he has been approached by many about the hazards presented at Kilnagher Cross.

“Only last week a neighbour was exiting from the cross and nearly got into an accident,” he said. “In the last week I have been approached by a number of people. I drove around it after I was contacted and, if you are coming from Ballyconnell, it is quite dangerous. It has a bad line of sight.”

Engineer Paul Mulligan said the council's roads department would have a look at the junction.
