Cootehill supply outage fixed 'ahead of schedule'

Repairs were expected to be completed by 6pm (Wednesday), but Irish Water today confirmed the issue was fixed “ahead of schedule”.

Irish Water and Cavan County Council have completed works to restore water supply to customers who suffered an outage due to a burst watermain in Cootehill town and surrounding areas yesterday.

Repairs were expected to be completed by 6pm (Wednesday), but Irish Water today confirmed the issue was fixed “ahead of schedule”.

“The repair was fixed yesterday evening ahead of schedule,” a spokesperson confirmed.

They also noted that it can take some time after for all customers to receive a normal supply of water, especially those at the extremities of the line or on higher ground. If any customer is still experiencing issues they should contact our customer care helpline on 1850 278 278.
