Shopping lift off in Cavan after lock down

The exiting of Level Five restrictions brought some degree of normality back to the towns and villages across the county yesterday morning (Tuesday) and shoppers were out early on the streets of Cavan Town to hit the shops.

There was that extra pep in shoppers’ steps as they generally enjoyed their freedom to shop.

Eddie Coleman from Cavan Gifts, and an active member of Cavan Chamber of Commerce, said it was great to be back on a nice crisp December morning to greet customers in a good mood.

“Cavan Town is essentially the complete shopping centre and it has everything that is required for a wonderful Christmas experience. There is no requirement to drive away to Dublin or other long distance locations,” he said.

“For the six weeks we were closed, we were doing ‘click and collect’ here in the shop and there was great support from the local people. I know for the month ahead, we should be quite busy,” said an optimistic Mr Coleman.
