Santa to drive-by Killeshandra

Festive spirit is soaring in Killeshandra. The Resource Centre has organised a ‘Drive By Santa Event’ in the LakeLand Dairies carpark for next Wednesday, December 16, at 6pm. Bookings for the event will be taken until this Friday, December 11, at a cost of €5 per car.

“Santa is super excited to be given this opportunity to meet all his friends and we hope for a fun family time for all,” said a spokesperson.

The event follows the official switching on of the Christmas lights in Killeshandra yesterday evening by Santa Claus and Mrs Claus in a quiet ceremony.

COVID-19 restrictions meant it had to be toned down somewhat with social distancing measures in place.

Santa and Mrs Claus took the time to read a story for the children in the Killeshandra Fire Station, which the Celt videoed.

The town is looking very festive ahead of Santa Claus's return for the drive-by santa visit next Wednesday.

People are also being encouraged to shop local where possible.
