Thomas (Tommy) Brides, 5 Keadue, Cathedral Road, Cavan and formerly Tommy’s Bar, Main St., Cavan Town. Beloved husband and best friend of the late Betty. Predeceased by his brother Jimmy and sister Marie. Sunday December 20th, 2020 peacefully, in the loving care of his family and the Staff at Cavan General Hospital. Devoted father of Joanne, Marina, Paula, Rebecca and Tomás. Tommy will be very sadly missed by his loving family, son in law Raymond, his adored grandchildren Shane, Ciarán, James, Ellen, Lauryn, and Matthew, brother Philip, Lisboduff, Cootehill, and sister Monica Cunningham, Monaghan. Sister in law, brother in law, nephews, nieces, all his relatives and many, many friends.

Due to current restrictions and HSE advice, Tommy’s funeral, Mass and burial will be private to his family and close friends, totalling 25 persons.
Funeral will leave the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Tuesday arriving at the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Those who are paying their respects to Tommy along the route are asked to observe social distancing and keep everyone safe. Funeral Mass will be followed by burial in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Killygarry.

The funeral will leave the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd, Cavan on Tuesday morning at 11.10 to arrive at the Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, Cavan for funeral Mass at 11.30. Burial will follow Mass in St Brigid's Cemetery, Killygarry.

Packie, predeceased by his parents Thomas and Ellen, brothers Felix and Jimmy. Deeply regretted and remembered with love by his sisters Maura Duffy (Baraghy) and Kathleen Mullen (Shercock), brother in-law Jimmy, nieces Attracta, Pauline and Aileen, nephews Barry, Padraig, Seamus, Paul and Noel, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours, a wide circle of friends and members of the many organisations in which Packie was involved.

There will be an opportunity for the community to show their support to the family, as Packie’s funeral cortège travels from his sister’s residence, Maura Duffy (Baraghy) on Wednesday morning at 10:15am (via Ballybay, The Fives Crosses Latton and stopping briefly at his late residence) to arrive at St. Patrick’s Church Bawn for funeral mass at 11am, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
