Weather forecast for Cavan

It looks as if the worst of the cold snap may have passed as snow and ice begin to thaw across Cavan. There will be a cool start this morning with some lingering frost and patchy fog gradually clearing. Cloudy today with outbreaks of rain or drizzle, most frequent in the west. Highest temperatures of 7 degrees to the west of the province and 4 degrees to the east. Light to moderate southwesterly winds will freshen in the west towards evening.

Largely cloudy tonight with patchy rain and drizzle. Cloud will thicken with outbreaks of rain arriving from the Atlantic towards morning. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds, strong at times on Atlantic coasts.

Tomorrow morning will be rather dull and cloudy as rain becomes widespread, heaviest and most persistent to the west of the province. A clearance to showers will build in towards the evening. Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in moderate to fresh and gusty southwest winds, strong on coasts, veering westerly during the afternoon.
