Sr. Phyllis Brady

(also known as ‘Sr. Gerard’), Sisters of Charity of St. Paul the Apostle, Selly Park, Birmingham, UK (late of Ballintemple, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan and formerly of St. Paul's Greenhills, Dublin)– 18th January 2021, in the loving care of the sisters and staff at St. Paul's Nursing Home, Selly Park. Predeceased by her sister Ethel (McGurk) and her brothers Pat, Peter, John, Colm and Donal; lovingly remembered by her brother Finbar; sisters-in-law Mary, Julia & Marilyn, her community at St. Paul's Convent Selly Park; her cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, great grand-nephews, relatives and friends.

Due to current restrictions, a private funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 26th at 10am in St Paul's Convent Church, Selly Park, Birmingham. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Frank Charles

St. Mary`s Road, Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Frank Charles, St Mary's Road, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, peacefully in his 96th year, in the loving care of staff at Kilmainhamwood Nursing Home, 21 January 2021.

Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Peggy), née White and his son Gerard. Deeply regretted by his daughters Teresa, Philomena, Angela, Madeline, sons Anthony, Sean & Paul, grandchildren Orla, Danielle, Robyn, Palessa, Christopher, Nicola, Stephanie, Louise, Katie, Ciara, Sara, Hannah, Callum, Aoibhe, Mia, Luca, Ella & Conor. Sadly missed by his sons-in-law Brian, David, Robert, John and daughters-in-law Sandra and Liz, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings, a private funeral mass will take place for his family in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Kingscourt with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Frank's funeral cortège will travel from Kieran Bros. Funeral Home, Kingscourt, via St. Mary’s Road, Main Street, Church Street and Hall Street en route to the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Saturday evening from 4.30 pm. Friends and neighbours are very welcome to line that route in a safe and socially distanced manner as a mark of respect.

John Joe Donohoe

Oghill, Ballinagh, Cavan

John Joe who died peacefully on Wednesday evening at Cavan General Hospital. Sadly missed by his loving wife Pauline. Deeply regretted by his loving family sons Paul (Florida), David (Oghill), Shane,(Canada), daughters Noreen, (Cheltenham U.K.) Karen, Bruskey, daughters-in-law Attracta, Joanne, Shane's partner Chelsea, sons-in-law Allan and Donie, his eleven adored grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Philomena. Sadly missed by his sisters Mary, Margaret, and Bridie, his brothers Paddy and Barney, nephews, nieces, and many many friends.

Removal from family home on Sunday morning to arrive St. Michael's Church, Potahee for Funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Due to HSE and Government advice the Funeral Mass and The family home will be Private. The Mass is streamed live on Facebook.

Eugene Gaffney

Kilbride, Mountnugent, Cavan

Eugene Gaffney, Kilbride, Mountnugent, Co. Cavan. Thursday, January 21st (peacefully) at St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Virginia. Predeceased by his wives Cecelia (Celia) and Eileen, his brothers and sisters. Deeply regretted by his daughters; Martina, Rita, Eileen and Philomena, son's; Breen, Michael, Pat, Gene, Joseph and Denis, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Inline with the current Government & HSE guidelines, Eugene's Funeral will be private to family. Removal from Briody's Funeral Home, Kilnaleck on Saturday (23rd) at 10.30am (via his home in Kilbride) to St. Brigid's Church, Mountnugent for Funeral Mass at 11am. MULLIGAN (née Donohoe) (Cabinteely / Johnstown, Co. Dublin and late of Gowna, Co. Cavan and Aughavas, Co. Leitrim) – January 20th 2021 (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross. Mary (late of the N.R.H. Rochestown Avenue, Dun Laoghaire), dearly beloved wife of Dannie, devoted mother of Mairead, Aine and Theresa. Sadly missed by her loving husband, daughters, sons-in-law Owen and Jason, grandsons Calum and Harry, brothers Gerry and Padraig, sisters-in-law Anne and Katie, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Ricky Walsh, Carriga, Stradone, Co Cavan and formerly Ballivor, Co Meath. ( Ex Staff Meath Chronicle) Thursday 21 January 2021 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Beloved husband of Kathleen and dear father of David, Donna, Amy and Laura and loving son of Bea.

Sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, mother, his adored grandchildren, Maisie, Danny, Alannah, Páidí, Eve, Jack and Dakota, brothers Kevin and Moses, sisters Caroline, Mary, Ann and Mags, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, relatives and many friends.

Drumaconvern, Broomfield, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Elizabeth (Lily) Finnegan, Drumaconvern, Broomfield, Co Monaghan, Wednesday 20th January 2021, peacefully in the tender loving care of the Nurses and staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. Predeceased by her sister Alice O' Friel, Ballybay. Sadly missed by her sisters Mollie (Mc Caffrey) and Bridie (Cassidy) Bolton, her nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace.

Remains to arrive at Saint Patrick's Church, Broomfield, via Culloville and her late residence for 12 noon funeral Mass on Friday, 22nd January. Internment afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Corragore, Rockcorry, Monaghan

The death has occurred of David Alexander (Lexie) Mehaffy, Corragore,Rockcorry, Co.Monaghan and Luton, Bradfordshire, Tuesday January 19th after a long illness bravely borne. Predeceased by his wife Kathy, parents William and Garnet Mehaffy. Sadly missed by his loving son Jason daughter in law Siobhan, grandchildren Thomas and Olivia, brothers William and Victor, sister Nan Bradford, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Lexi's funeral and cremation will take place on February 5th in Luton.
