Eugene Clarke

Lislea, Virginia, Cavan

The death has occurred, peacefully, of Eugene Clarke, Lislea, Virginia, Co. Cavan at St. Joseph's Nursing Home, Oldcastle Road, Virginia, on 20 January, 2021. Predeceased by his brother Liam and his parents. Deeply regretted by his brother Tommy and his sisters Mary (Clarke), Ann (Gillic) and Shelia (Cahill), his sister in law Connie and his brother in law Jim, his nieces and nephews.

Rest In Peace.

Remains leaving Matthew's Funeral Home on Friday at 11.20am, arriving at St. Matthew's Church, Maghera, via Lislea, for 12 o'clock Funeral Mass. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

In compliance with current Covid 19 guidelines, Eugene’s Funeral Mass will be restricted to family members only. People are invited to form a guard of honour, if they so wish to, along the route of the funeral cortège from Matthew's Funeral Home, Virginia, via Lislea, to St. Matthew’s Church, Maghera, as a mark of respect. We ask all those who wish to pay their respects along the routes to acknowledge social distancing at all times.

Eugene’s family would like to acknowledge the wonderful kindness, exceptional care and friendship of all the staff who looked after him in St. Joseph’s Nursing Home, Virginia.

Sean Roe

Cootehill Road, Shercock, Cavan

Peacefully, at his residence, surrounded by his devoted family. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Kitty, daughters Mary & Paula, sons Gabriel & Paraic, relatives & friends.

In line with government advice and restrictions regarding public gatherings, Sean’s funeral Mass and burial will be strictly private for family only. Sean’s remains shall leave his home to arrive at Saint Patrick’s Church, Shercock, for 11.30am Mass on Friday, 22nd January, 2021. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Those wishing to stand along the funeral route are welcome to do so and are asked to observe social distancing guidelines. Sean’s family would like to thank you all for your understanding & cooperation at this difficult time.

Gerry Brady

Castleknock, Dublin / Arvagh, Cavan

The sudden, but peaceful passing has occurred of Gerry Brady, Deerpark, Castleknock, Dublin 15 and Brady’s Garage, Castleknock and formerly of Gurteen, Arvagh, Co. Cavan. Beloved husband of Maureen (née Sheridan) and adored father of Geraldine, Caroline, Suzanne and Alison. Sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons-in-law Maurice, Ciaran, Ronnie and Robert and grandchildren Harry, Joe, Rosie, Gerry, Ruby, Katie, Paddy, Maggie, Ella, Millie, Tommy and Albert. Predeceased by his brothers Paddy, Thomas, Philip and Fr. Charles, and his sister Beesie, brothers-in-law John Conefrey and Mick McCarthy, sisters-in-law Lily and Marie. Deeply mourned by his brothers James, John-Joe, Fr. Vincent and Donal and sister Kathleen and his sisters-in-law Madeline, Margaret, Angela and Mary. Sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews, his great friends and those he worked with in the garage.

Due to Government advice and restrictions regarding public gatherings a private family funeral will take place. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral but due to current restrictions cannot may follow the Funeral Mass at 9.00am Friday, 22nd January 2021, by following the link below;

The death has occurred of Mary Clarke (nee Kearns), England and late of Curraghmore, Virginia, Co. Cavan. Deeply regretted by her sisters Roseleen Denning (Lisnabuntry) and Peggy (England), her brothers John (England) and Tom (England).

Funeral will take place in England on the 29th January, 2021.

Kathleen Mc Gahern (née Reilly)

Cordownan, Arva, Cavan / Loughduff, Cavan

Kathleen (Kathy) Mc Gahern (nee Reilly), Cordownan, Arva & formerly Derries, Loughduff, Co. Cavan. January 20th 2021, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents John & Mary & her brothers Aiden & Benny. Sadly missed by her husband Michael, Sons Sean, Seamus, Kevin & Gerard, daughters Collette, Joan, Eithne & Annette, her sister Mary O'Brien (New York), brother Paddy (London), brother-in-law John O'Brien (New York), sons-in-law Paul & Robert, daughters-in-law Wanda, Sinead, Carole & Sinead, her adored 13 grandchildren, all her relations & many friends.

Kathleen's Funeral cortege will leave her home on Friday morning at 11.40am, travelling to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Coronea for Funeral Mass at 12 noon followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Those wishing to stand along the Funeral route are welcome to do so and are asked to observe social distancing guidelines. January 20th 2021 peacefully at Cavan General Hospital. Husband of the late Frances. Predeceased by his brothers Oliver & J. P. Due to government & HSE restrictions, George's funeral Mass will be strictly in the presence of his family. For those who would like to pay their respects the funeral cortège will arrive in Bawnboy at 1 o'clock on Friday and will take the following route, Marsh Road, Corlough, Gortnacorriga, Airmount House, arriving at St Mogue's Church, Bawnboy, at 2 o'clock for funeral Mass. Fionnuala Sherry

Magheraboy, Carrickmacross, Monaghan / Letterkenny, Donegal

The death has occurred of Fionnuala Sherry, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal and formerly of Magheraboy, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, suddenly at her residence Tuesday 19th January 2021. Predeceased by her beloved father Eddie, mother Roisin and brother Eddie. Sadly missed and remembered by her heartbroken sons Padhraic, Shane, Micheal and Fionntaín Marron and their loving father Michael Marron, adored granddaughter Éireann and Grandson Darragh. Forever missed by her sisters Yvonne and Maire, brothers Owen, Pat, and Dermot, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunt Sadie, relatives, neighbours and her many friends in Letterkenny and Carrickmacross.

In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and in respect of Government Guidelines for Level 5, there will be no public wake as Fionnuala’s funeral and burial will be celebrated privately by her family (limited to 10).

There will be an opportunity for neighbours and friends to pay their respects by lining the route to St. Joseph’s in a socially distance manner as Fionnuala’s funeral cortège leaves Deery’s Funeral Home on Friday afternoon to arrive at St. Joseph’s Church, Carrickmacross for Requiem Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Carrickmacross.
