WEATHER: A wet and cold day ahead

A wet and rather breezy start to the day with outbreaks of rain and possible snow, according to Met Éireann. Some wintry rain will continue to affect Ulster this afternoon, mainly confined to northern coast by evening. Staying cloudy. Cold in Ulster with afternoon highs of just 4 to 7 degrees Celsius. Moderate to fresh southerly winds will veer westerly during the day.

Tonight will bring patchy outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Mist and low cloud too, in just light variable breezes. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 7 degrees Celsius, coolest across the north.

Tomorrow

Mostly cloudy on Wednesday with perhaps a little showery rain in places, but overall dry. Later in the evening a band of heavy rain will move up from the southwest. Some heavy and possibly thundery bursts will bring spot flooding. Staying cool in the north with highs of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius, in light to moderate southeast breezes
