Chamber to hold virtual AGM

Cavan Chamber of Commerce have indicated that they will hold their AGM on Monday, February 22. The 2021 meeting will be held virtually at 7pm. The business collective are asking members or prospective members to mail or text to register interest.

In the normal run of events the AGM would see nominations to the board of directors including the roles of President, Secretary and Treasurer. Given the current circumstances anyone interested should contact the Chamber prior to the meeting.

The Chamber stress the importance of having a Board representative of membership. With this in mind they ideally would like representatives from Retail, Hospitality, Manufacturing and Services sectors. It should also have the greatest geographical spread possible.

The Chamber are heavily involved in promoting the town and county, expressing a positive message of Cavan as a place to live, work and do business, nurture a positive and inclusive community spirit and provide regular networking and b2b opportunities

The business group lobby local government on behalf of the various sectors. Other initiatives include the voucher scheme, Cavan Business Watch, business after hours events and the provision of the local directory.

Chamber president Tom Brady said the body are looking forward to the challenges of the forthcoming year and wish to build on the efforts of the last: “We really want to build on the success and goodwill of the LoveCavan campaign.
