Local firms take on Jerusalema Challenge

An Garda Síochána took part in the Jerusalema Challenge earlier this month and since then there have been countless videos from around the country of people taking part everywhere from beaches to bogs.

Not to be left behind, several local firms have pulled out all the stops to deliver their own versions of the Jerusalema Dance Challenge.

The now-viral dance began in February 2020 when a group of Angolan dancers recorded themselves dancing while eating lunch. In the year since, the dance and the song - Jerusalema by Master KG and Nomcebo Zikode - has taken the world by storm.

Now the viral dance challenge has made its way to Cavan where staff at the Slieve Russell Hotel near Ballyconnell posted their own video online yesterday (Tuesday).

The short video show an unrivalled level of chorography, starting out on the PGA accredited golf course before making its way throughout the rest of the luxury four-star hotel.

Their socially distanced dancing has certainly helped to boost morale and lift the spirits at a a time when many are struggling.

The Slieve Russell is not the only local company to take part in the trending #JerusalemaChallenge.

Kiernan Milling in Granard enlisted almost a dozen staff and a fleet of branded trucks for their video.

The feeds company posted the ir brilliant video on Twitter, saying: 'Here’s our #jerusalemachallenge thanks to #angardasiochana , Ciara and especially our staff for lifting our spirits!'

From nuns to groups of friends, firefighters to shop workers, there has now been an array of takes on the Jerusalema Challenge from every corner of the world.
