Raymond Galligan at the start of the All Ireland series which would end with him winning The Anglo-Celt Cup, reach an All Ireland semi-final and be awarded an All Star.

All Star wouldn't be possible without his team - Galligan

Cavan's team captain has paid tribute to his team mates in reaction to the news of his All Star Awards.

Goalkeeper Raymond Galligan along with teammates Thomas Galligan and Padraig Faulkner will join the illustrious All Star ranks tomorrow evening. Up to this year Cavan only had two All Stars - Ollie Brady and Dermot McCabe.

Raymond Galligan is the 800th player to received an All-Star since they were first held back in 1971.

"I've been very fortunate this year in that we brought some success to the county," Raymond told The Anglo-Celt. "To be in the reckoning in the year that was with big stars like Stephen Cluxton and David Clark is lovely. But only for that fact I had such a great team in front of me this would not have been possible."

Joanne Cantwell and Marty Morrissey will present the 2020 PwC All-Star Awards, as the year's outstanding hurlers and footballers are honoured. Brian Fenton, Ciaran Kilkenny and Cillian O'Connor have been nominated for the Footballer of the Year award, while Gearóid Hegarty, Tony Kelly and Stephen Bennett are shortlisted for the Hurler of the Year honour

The awards will be presented tomorrow night (Saturday) during a 90-minute broadcast on RTÉ 1 television at 6.35pm.
