Morning showers to clear by evening

NIghtime: Showers mainly confined to western coasts. Lows of 3 to 5 degrees, in fresh southerly winds.

After almost a wet and windy week, the worst of the inclement weather seems to have blown to make way for clearer conditions later in the day.

Though there will be outbreaks of rain spreading from the south of the country later, with the chance of windy conditions by afternoon, a clearance to scattered showers is expected to occur during the evening.

“Wet and very windy conditions will extend from the south by early afternoon and persist through the early evening when clearer spells will develop. Strong to near gale force and gusty southerly winds, with gales on coasts. Highest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees.,” predicts national forecaster Met Eireann, who indicate a mostly dry night with a mix of clear spells and scattered showers.

“The showers mainly confined to western coasts. Lows of 3 to 5 degrees, in fresh southerly winds.”
