Sunny spells before rain sets in

Current indications are that more settled conditions will build over the country later in the week.

Sunny spells and mostly dry conditions are expected to prevail before isolated showers move in across the region later in the afternoon.

“Highs of 8 or 9 degrees in fresh and gusty southwesterly winds,” national forecaster Met Eireann predicts.

After the brief respite however, the forecaster expect that conditions will become “very wet and windy again” on Monday night and Tuesday.

“There will be a growing flood risk as rain will likely persist in parts of the south and east through Wednesday also.”

But current indications are that more settled conditions will build over the country later in the week.
