It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Carmel Cassidy (née Reilly)

Drumrora, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

The death has taken place of Carmel Cassidy, Drumrora, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan. Peacefully at St. Francis Hospice in Blanchardstown. Beloved wife of the late Chris, loving mother of Dara, Shauna, Gearóid, Áine, Deirdre and the late Ciarán. Sister of Rosaleen, Jim and the late Phyllis. Greatly missed by sons in law Shane, Darren, Barry and Eduardo, daughter in law Keelin and her adored grandchildren, Finn, Daniel, Aoibheann, Fearghal, Réalta, Patrick, Caitlin, Jessica, Eoghan, Georgie, Cormac, Anna and Jonah.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Removal on Thursday 6th from her late residence to St Marys Church Crosserlough for requiem Mass at 12 noon followed by interment in adjoining cemetery.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Carmel's many friends whose regular messages and check-ins kept her spirits up over the past difficult year. They would also like to thank the staff at St. Francis Hospice, Surgical 1 and the Palliative Care Team in Cavan General Hospital, the MND team in Beaumont and the wonderful carers who looked after her so well.

Due to Government and H.S.E. guidelines the house and Carmels funeral will be private to family.

Sean Harton, Ashbrook Way, Moynehall, Cavan and formerly Creighan, Cavan and Carnagh, Kilcogy. Son of the late Bernard and Mae. Sunday, May 2nd 2021, Suddenly at home. Beloved husband of the late Joan. Sadly missed by his cherished daughter Maude, his loving sisters Anna, Olive, Marietta, Bridget, Margaret, Teresa and Catherine, brothers Padraig, Bernard and Hubert, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, all his relatives and many, many friends at home and abroad.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan tomorrow, Wednesday, from 3.00pm until 7.00pm for family and friends and again on Thursday from 11.00am with removal to the Cathedral of SS Patrick and Felim, Cavan via Dublin road on to bypass and Ballinagh road to Moynehall, his home and Creighan. For Requiem Mass at 1pm, Cremation afterwards in Lakelands Crematorium, Dublin Road, Cavan. Family homes strictly private at all times please

Krzysztof Michal Kubat, 3 Rathdrum, Drumalee, Cavan Town, Sunday, May 2nd, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his wife Monika, his daughters Wiktoria & Zuza, his mother Anna & his many, many friends.

Reposing at the Mc Mahon Funeral Home, Farnham Rd., Cavan on Wednesday evening from 6pm until 7pm for family & close friends only. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in the Cathedral of Saints Patrick & Felim, Cavan followed by a private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium. All gatherings are limited to 25 people. Eileen O'Reilly, Iona House, Shercock Road, Bailieborough, Co. Cavan, died 3rd May 2021, peacefully, at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Owen and son Phelim. Deeply regretted by her loving family Maria, Aidan, Damien, Seamus and Catriona (Kate), sisters Clare, Rita and Bridie, grandchildren Owen, Ciaran, Sean, Colin, Mark, Julia, James, Catherine Georgia, great-grandchildren Charlie and Layla, sons in law Peter and Shane, daughters in law Lena, Caroline and Julie, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Nigel Murray

The death has occurred of Nigel Murray, 13 Belgian Square, Monaghan, Sunday, 2nd May, suddenly, at his residence.

Predeceased by his parents Seamus & Mary (nee McKenna Charlie) Murray. Nigel will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Aoife, sisters Jackie, Paula & Joanne, brothers Domnic & Gerard, brothers in law, sisters in law, Aoife's mother Jackie Monaghan, nieces and nephews Michaela, Nicole, Callum, Tíarnach, Fionn, Eimer, Leilani, Kaihe, Stefan & Sara, extended family and friends.

Nigel’s remains will repose at his residence in the presence of his family & friends until removal on Thursday morning to arrive at St.Macartan’s Cathedral via Glaslough Street/Dublin Street (please adhere to social distancing guidelines) for 11am Funeral Mass (limited to 25 people only): https://www.mcnmedia.tv/camera/st-macartans-cathedral-monaghan. Mavis Weir (née Sharpe)

Derrygooney, Shantonagh,Castleblayney, Monaghan

and formerly Maudabawn, Co.Cavan.Peacefully on Tuesday, 4th May 2021 in St.Mary's Hospital, Castleblayney.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Willie. Mavis will be dearly missed by her loving family, her daughters Eileen (Dickson, Mullyash) and Muriel (Conlon, Muckno St. Castleblayney), son Harold (Dublin), sons-in-law Wesley, Patrick and Diego, her much loved grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Resting at her home, until removal on Thursday, 6th May, for Funeral service in Christ Church Aughnamullen, (Latton) at 2pm.Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Mavis, if so desired to Dementia Ireland (Cheques made payable to same) C/o Conly Funeral Directors, Ballybay, Co.Monaghan or any family member.

Due to the current Covid restrictions the house and funeral are private please. Mavis's funeral cortege will travel via Derrygooney, Veldin's Cross and onto Aughnamullen Church.Those who wish to line the route may do so.Please adhere to the social distancing guidelines at all times.
