The superb video of Ruby performing this truly remarkable new version of the song is now up on YouTube and Spotify and iTunes and various social media accounts including Ruby O’Kelly music.

The recording was kept under wraps and Ruby is now thrilled that everyone can get to see and hear her bringing the song to life with her own special creative genius.

Ruby loves all types of music and she describes music as her “passion”.

She close the song because she feels the lyric remain as powerful today. “People can just stop and listen to the song for those two minutes and reflect on where the world is at today and remember the John Lennon message of peace and love,” Ruby told the Celt.

Ruby will shortly celebrate her 16th birthday and loves all John Lennon songs.

“I sing the song very differently, but it still delivers the same message. It has a different arrangement and that makes it very unique and powerful.

“The recording features cello, strings and mainly piano and percussion instruments– I am very proud of it,” enthused Ruby.

The video was professionally shot on three locations by Aidan Farrelly’s Bad Apple Films in Meath.

It was recorded in Crookedwood Studios near Navan with Mark Cahill who produced and arranged it.

Ruby is currently studying for her Junior Certificate in St Clare’s College in Ballyjamesduff.

The daughter of Terence and Sharon O’Kelly, Ruby has one brother Corey.

Her cousin Rian has been a wonderful help in establishing her YouTube Channel.

“He looks after all the technology part, which I am really grateful for,” says Ruby.

Earlier this year, Ruby recorded ‘Dance with my Father’ to pay tribute to those who lost their fathers during the pandemic.

Ruby’s talent has grown since she first went viral in 2019 when she wrote and recorded ‘You Won’t Stop Me’ at the age of 13 to highlight the issue of bullying.
