Community Gardai receive sunflowers from Loughan House

The presentation of flowers was made by Governor of the Blacklion based open prison Mark Lydon to newly appointed Cavan Superintendent Padraic Jones.

Gardaí in Cavan were delighted to receive the generous donation of sunflower plants from Loughan House.

These were presented by Governor of the Blacklion based open prison Mark Lydon to newly appointed Cavan Superintendent Padraic Jones.

The Cavan Garda Community Engagement Unit will now link in with residents associations and organisations in Cavan town to enhance their environment with some sunflowers.

Meanwhile, Cavan Community Engagement Unit recently assisted local man Cormac Kelly as he ran 66k to raise funds for a defibrillator.

The device will be positioned at Inspire Cavan Day Care services at the Backyard Complex at Moynehall which supports young adults with autism and intellectual disabilities.
