Gerard “Gerry” Bogue

The death has occurred of Gerard “Gerry” Bogue, Coragh, Belturbet, Co. Cavan, 16th May 2021, peacefully in the loving care of his family and the wonderful staff of Surgical 1, Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary (Molly) and his sister, Monica. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, daughters, Katherine, Caroline, Aisling, Mary, Brenda and Shauna, son Brian, brothers, sister, grandchildren, Alyssa, Kaylon, Bailey, Jaxxon, Sadhbh, Meadhbh, Willow, Reece and Lexie, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Gerry’s remains will leave his home this Tuesday morning at 11:30am to arrive at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Belturbet for Funeral Mass at 12 noon with burial afterwards in Staghall cemetery. Gerry’s funeral and burial will be private to family and friends only, a maximum of 50 persons may attend.

For those who wish to line the route of Gerry’s funeral cortege, you are asked to do so in a socially distant and safe manner, observing restrictions and social distancing guidelines.

James (Jim) Gammons

Murmod, Virginia, Cavan / Navan, Meath

GAMMONS, James (Jim), (B. Eng. and Former Captain of Virginia Golf Club), Murmod, Virginia, Co. Cavan and late of Ladyrath, Wilkinstown, Co. Meath, 16 May 2021 peacefully, in his 92nd year at St. Joseph’s Private Nursing Home, Virginia. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Lillian (Lily) and their son James Philip. Deeply regretted by his cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, exceptional neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Remains reposing at Matthews' Funeral Home, Virginia (A82YV58) for family and close friends on Monday from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock. Jim’s remains will depart Matthews' Funeral Home on Tuesday morning at 10.25am and the cortege will travel via Morgans Shop, Bailieborough Road and past his home place, to arrive at Mary Immaculate Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. In compliance with the current Covid 19 guidelines, Jim's Funeral Mass will be restricted to 50 only. Jim's Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on https://www.churchtv.ie/cavan/ and scroll to Virginia or tune into 105.8 FM. Burial afterwards in Rathkenny Cemetery.

Jim’s family would like to acknowledge and thank Ann and the staff in St. Joseph’s Nursing Home for the wonderful care, support and friendship shown to Jim in the past few months, and especially to his neighbours Pat and Mannix for their exceptional kindness, thoughtfulness and friendship shown to Jim through the years.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Joan. Sadly missed by his children Siobhan, Orla, Peadar and Sinead, son-in-law Philip, daughter-in-law Barbara, grandchildren Feilim, Dara, Ruairi and Shona. Nancy O’Reilly, 16th May 2021, Main Street, Killeshandra (formerly of the Loughbawn Hotel), peacefully at Oakview Nursing Home. Predeceased by her brother Sean (MRCVS), Cavan; and sisters Pat (Hurley) and Maura (Comerford). Very deeply regretted by her loving sister Sheila, nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

Removal on Wednesday morning, 19th May, from Lawlor's Funeral Home, Belturbet at 11.30am to St. Brigid's Church, Killeshandra for Funeral Mass at 12 noon, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Due to current Government and HSE guidelines, numbers at Nancy's Funeral Mass remain limited to 50 people and therefore restricted to family and close friends only. Denise Owens (née Gallimore)

Corratubber, Cavan

Denise Owens (nee Gallimore) Corratubber, Cavan. Sunday May 16th 2021 peacefully, in the loving care of her family and the wonderful staff at Surgical 2, Cavan General Hospital. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Josie Gallimore, St. Patrick’s Tce., Cavan. Denise will be very sadly missed by her heartbroken husband Cillín and her children, Ryan, Aoife and Daniel, her brother Michael and his partner Lynn, sisters in law, Fiona, Niamh, Sinéad, Dearbhaile, brother in law Fergal, cousins Alice and Edmund all her relatives, her good neighbours and many friends.

May she rest in peace.

Due to current restrictions and health safety, reposing, funeral Mass and burial will be restricted to 50 people.

Reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8pm for family and close friends and visiting will be socially distanced. The funeral will leave the funeral home on Wednesday morning at 11am and travelling via St. Patrick’s Tce, Wolfe Tone St. and Farnham St., to the Cathedral of St. Patrick & Felim, Cavan for Funeral Mass at 11.30am. Following Mass, the cortege will travel to St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Killygarry for committal prayers and burial.

Those standing along the route are asked to adhere to social distancing and keep everyone safe.

Betty Kane (née Griffin)

Sliverstream, Tyholland, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Betty Kane (née Griffin) Tullylish, Silverstream, Co Monaghan, on the 16th May 2021, peacefully, in St Camillus' Nursing Centre, Killucan, Co. Westmeath, retired principal of Leitrim National School, Tyholland, Co Monaghan. Beloved wife of the late Mick and loving mother of Pauline and Mícheál. Sadly missed by her son-in-law Justin and grandchildren Maria, Catherine, Thomas, Justin and Mark, brother-in-law, extended family and friends and by all who knew and loved her.

Formerly of Glaslough and Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan. Peacefully at Daisy Hill Hospital, after a long illness, in the care of the nurses and staff.

Deeply regretted by her loving sons and daughter Mark (Hilary) Ballinode, Dean (Colette) Newry, Ian (Sharon) Keady, Ronnie (Martina) Castleblayney and Jacqueline (Brian) Carna, also their father Jimmy Kennedy and her best friend Pepsi the dog, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters, brothers, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
