Scattered showers and drizzle forecast

Saturday will be mostly cloudy at first, with scattered outbreaks of patches of light rain or drizzle.

However, some bright or sunny spells are expected to develop during the day, according to national forecaster Met Eireann.

But these dry spells will be interrupted by more “scattered showers”, with some “turning heavy” later in the day, with a “slight risk” of isolated thunderstorms in some areas.

Maximum temperatures 15 to 19 degrees, in mostly light southwesterly winds, rising moderate at times.

Saturday night meanwhile will be mainly dry, with clear spells.

“In near calm conditions, mist and fog patches will develop. Minimum temperatures 5 to 9 degrees.”

Overall though its expected there will be a good deal of dry weather for the rest of the holiday weekend, with temperatures close to normal at first, trending to warm at times.
