Cavan mum to represent at ‘Miss Elegance of the World’

A Cavan mum is down to the last five vying to represent Ireland at the Miss Elegance of the World competition final in Florida next year.

Janet Needham (46) has been chosen as one of five pageant queens to compete at the Miss Elegance of the World Ireland finals, to take place on July 31.

“I’m absolutely thrilled,” says Janet, who is a former model and a self-confessed “pageant girl”.

Janet’s name was put forward by the reigning Miss Ireland and she was selected from dozens of hopefuls to challenge for the title.

Janet, who is mum to five-year-old Michael James, the “apple of my eye” she says, has already represented Cavan as Ms Cavan 2020 at the Miss Emerald Isle Pageant, where she was named ‘First Runner Up’ and also ‘Miss Congeniality 2020’ at the competition.

A sales executive and still part-time model, Janet is a native of Dublin but has been living in Crosserlough for the past 12 years.

“I ended up in Cavan and I love it,” adds Janet, whose directors for the Miss Elegance of the World competition are Anthony Turner and Sandra McKenzie Keogh.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all ladies the very best of luck and to remember we are all winners regardless.”
