Dozens attend local property marking event

The Cavan Community Engagement Unit has thanked all the bike owners who turned-up in Drumalee to get their bicycles marked at the weekend.

Cycling enthusiasts travelled from as far as Ballyjamesduff, Bailieborough, Ballyconnell and Kilnaleck to have their bikes marked.

“Thanks also to Cavan County Council for the property marking machines and to Drumalee GFC for the use of their facilities. There will be similar events organised in the near future,” a local garda spokesperson stated.

There were similar property marking events carried out by the Monaghan and Carrickmacross Community Engagement Units. “Property marking may prevent property being stolen and if stolen and recovered helps us to identify the rightful owner.”
