Cloudy with with possibility of thunder

The outlook for the week ahead starts with generally dry day with spells of summer sunshine on Monday.

Sunday will start out cloudy and mild today, though there is a risk of patchy outbreaks of rain as the day moves on.

“Whilst sunshine will break through across the east, it will stay somewhat cloudier elsewhere with showery rain, turning heavy and possibly thundery in places,” says Met Eireann.

Feeling humid with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, in a light to moderate northeast to east breeze, the national forecaster predicts.

Tonight meanwhile will be dry in “most places” under broken cloud, however the met office says that lingering showery rain will persist locally.

“Shallow mist will occur in places later.”

Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees Celsius, in mainly moderate northerly breezes, fresh at times along coasts.
