Cavan Digital Hub expansion plans approved

Plans to develop the Digital Hub in Cavan Town have been approved by the county council’s planning department.

Cavan Digital Hub received permission to erect a fully serviced factory unit, incorporating two-storey administration and staff facility areas at the IDA business park on the outskirts of Cavan Town.

The plans also provide for a single-storey manufacturing/assembly/storage areas, access via existing entrances, parking and signage.

The permission also covers landscaping, boundary treatments, bicycle shelter, connection to public sewer, surface water, watermain and utility services and all ancillary site works.

The location of the approved area is Site 3, IDA Cavan Business Park, Killygarry, Cavan. The local authority planning approval comes subject to 13 conditions.

Cavan Digital Hub made the application last March with the local authority reaching the decision this week.

Among the conditions attached to the permission are that Cavan Digital Hub must submit a traffic and transport assessment, details of the earthworks required to facilitate the development must also be submitted and the application must engage with Irish Water on connecting to the water infrastructure.
