CITC look to expand campus

Cavan Innovation and Technology Centre (CITC) is seeking permission to expand its campus in Cavan Town.

Managers of the state-of-the-art innovation, training and events facility applied to local authority planners to erect a fully-serviced, two-storey extension to incorporate Educational Training, Innovation and a Business Incubation Centre.

The application also covers associated carparking, connection to existing services and ancillary works.

CITC promotes innovation, learning and economic growth in the Cavan and Border region. They provide local businesses with education, training, technology and facilities.

The brainchild of Vincent Reynolds, CEO, Cavan County Enterprise Board and Professor Eamon McQuade, University of Limerick (a Virginia native), CITC was established to promote innovation in the region by giving local business access to the latest technology and training methods.

Cavan County Council received the application at the end of last week and is due to reach a decision by August 25.
