Fresh and showery conditions for the coming days

Weather Update

Rather cloudy this morning with scattered showers and some patches of mist or drizzle. Remaining mostly cloudy across Ulster and north Leinster this afternoon with further showers. It will turn brighter elsewhere with sunny spells and just well-scattered showers. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds.

A fresh night tonight with scattered showers, merging to longer spells of rain in Atlantic coastal counties with a risk of thunder. Minimum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate west or southwest winds.

Good spells of sunshine on Wednesday but with showers becoming fairly widespread over the country. Some of the showers will be heavy with localised thunderstorms developing bringing a risk of lightning and spot flooding. Feeling fresh with maximum temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in blustery westerly winds.

Showers tending to become confined to Atlantic coastal counties overnight on Wednesday with clear spells developing widely. Minimum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in moderate westerly breezes.

Another fresh and showery day on Thursday with bright spells and showers, the showers heavy in places, especially across Ulster with a risk of isolated thunderstorms. The best of the sunshine across the southeast of the country. Maximum temperatures ranging 15 to 19 degrees, warmest in the southeast in moderate to fresh westerly winds. Scattered showers overnight with minimum temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in fresh westerly winds.

Good sunny spells on Friday but with scattered showers spreading from the northwest during the day. The showers may merge to give longer spells of rain in Atlantic coastal counties at times. Top temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees in fresh westerly winds. Showers becoming confined to Atlantic coastal areas on Friday night with good clear spells developing elsewhere. Minimum temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in moderate to fresh northwest winds.

Early indications suggest the weekend will be fresh and bright with a northwesterly air-flow dominating bringing a mix of sunny spells and scattered showers. Temperatures close to or slightly below the seasonal average.
