Leona Maguire is en route to Tokyo as she goes for gold at her second Olympic Games.

The Ballyconnell superstar is fancied by many to turn in a very bold bid for a place on the podium. Maguire is in red hot form at present, tying the record for lowest score in a Major with a 61 at the Evian championship in France last weekend.

Maguire played the best golf of her career as she delivered a magnificent final round, catapulting her into a tie for sixth place.

Maguire birdied her last four holes and carded 10 in total.

She will get her tournament underway next Wednesday and is rated as a 20/1 shot to claim gold by the bookmakers.
