It is with regret that we note the deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Gerry Morris BDS

Rathmines, Dublin / Arva, Cavan

Peacefully, in the care of the Beacon Hospital. Sadly missed by his wife Sheila and children Sara, Peter and Philip. Beloved grandfather of Charlie, Moya, Killian, Owen, Astrid and Rosa. Much loved by his son-in-law David, daughter-in-law Brigid, sister-in-law Phil, brother-in-law Barney, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and a large circle of family friends. Gerry will be missed by many and remembered with much love and affection.

May he Rest in Peace.

A private family funeral will take place following current government guidelines. Family flowers only please.

Jim (James) Smith

Knocklyon, Dublin / Cavan / Oranmore, Galway

Smith, Jim (James) (Cavan, Knocklyon, Dublin and Oranmore, Galway) – peacefully on August 15th, 2021. Jimmy (late of The Mighty Avons Showband), predeceased by his brother Paddy and sister Mary.

Sadly missed by his loving partner Bridget, children Melissa, Robert and Emma, daughter-in-law Ciarah, son-in-law Simon, grandchildren Oliver, Chloe, Ronan and Rachel, brother Peter, extended family, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Due to current restrictions a maximum of 50 mourners are permitted at Jimmy’s Funeral Service which will take place on Thursday, 19th August, at 2.20pm in Glasnevin Crematorium Chapel.

Innishammon, Smithborough, Monaghan

Peacefully, at home. Predeceased by his son Sean and sister Olive. Dearly beloved husband of Mary and much loved father of Olive (Derek), Aidan (Vivien) and daughter-in-law Valerie. Devoted grandfather to all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Loving brother of Sheila, Therese and Betty.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at the home of his son Aidan and daughter-in-law Vivien, Springgrove, Roslea, from 4pm today, Tuesday, until removal on Thursday morning at 10am to arrive at St. Tierney's Chapel, Roslea, for funeral Mass at 11am, via Innishammon, followed by private cremation in Lakelands Crematorium, Cavan. House Private to family, relatives, neighbours and close friends and Strictly Private on Thursday morning, please. Family flowers only. Tommy's funeral Mass can be viewed on www.churchservices.tv/roslea. Anyone wishing to pay their respects may do so as the funeral cortege travels from the home to the chapel on Thursday morning, adhering to social distancing guidelines.

Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife, daughter, son, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, sisters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his entire circle of family, friends and neighbours.
