Philip Finnegan

35 College St, Cavan Town, Cavan

Philip Finnegan, 35 College St., Cavan, August 29th 2021, suddenly at his home. Beloved son of the late Phil and Betty and brother of the late Gene and Noel. Philip will be very sadly missed by his brother Gerry, sisters Ann McCaffrey, Marion Green and Rosie, sister in law Claudine, brother in law Charlie, nephews, nieces, uncle Tony, aunt Margaret, all his relatives and many, many friends.

Due to Government and HSE guidelines and in an effort to keep everyone safe, Philip’s Funeral will be private to Family, relations and close friends please.

Philip will be reposing at the McMahon Funeral Home, Farnham Road, Cavan (H12 C821) on Wednesday evening from 6pm until 8pm for family, relations and close friends where everyone will be asked to wear a face covering, adhere to social distancing and no handshakes.

The funeral will arrive to the Cathedral of Ss Patrick & Felim, Cavan on Thursday morning for Funeral Mass at 11.30am. via Farnham St. Mass will be limited to 50 family, relations and close friends. Funeral Mass will be followed by cremation at Lakeland Crematorium at 12.45pm and Cortege will travel along Farnham St., and College St. to the Crematorium. Those of you standing along the route to pay your last respects to Philip please remember social distancing.

The Finnegan family would like to express their gratitude to all of you for your understanding and co-operation with them at this sad time.

Douglas North

Knockateery, Cloverhill, Belturbet, Cavan

The death has occurred of Douglas North, Knockateery, Cloverhill, Belturbet, Co.Cavan on 28th August 2021. Predeceased by his parents George and Violet, deeply regretted and sadly missed by his brother Gordon and sister Muriel, brother-in-law Derek, nephews Adrian and Ryan, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Remains resting at Lawlors’ Funeral Home, Belturbet (Eircode H14R583) on Tuesday evening, 31st August, from 6pm to 8pm for close family and friends. Removal from Lawlors’ Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon, 1st September, at 1pm to arrive at Lakeland Crematorium via Gannon’s Cross, Redhills Village, Cloverhill & Butlersbridge for Funeral Service at 2pm. The service can be viewed online at lakelandcrematorium.ie by clicking on livestream and using the following password, Lakelandsfuneral2021.

Deirdre O'Donoghue (née Maguire)

Curraghmore, Mullingar, Westmeath / Drumalee, Cavan

Deirdre O’Donoghue (née Maguire) – Curraghmore, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath and late of Drumalee, Cavan) - died unexpectedly on August 28, 2021 at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin.

Dearly loved wife and best friend of John, adored mother of Ryan and Naoise and devoted daughter of Eithne and the late Gerry. Deirdre will be very sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband and family, brother Garrett, sister Irene, uncle, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues at the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, neighbours and many friends.

Deeply regretted by his loving daughter Lorraine, her mother Joanne, his partner Joyce, his brothers Liam (Anne), Eugene (Caroline), sisters Bernadette (Dublin), Philomena (Mick, Dublin), Patricia (Dublin), Majella (Michael, Glenties), Martina (Barry, Drumbrawn, Cloverhill), nieces, nephews, relatives and all his good friends in England.

Reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan this Wednesday evening from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock. Removal from the funeral home on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock arriving at St. Dallan's Church, Kildallan via Killeshandra for Funeral Mass at 12 o'clock. Burial afterwards in the old cemetery, Ballyconnell. Due to government & HSE guidelines the funeral mass will be limited to 50 people.

Edward Winterlich

Cranadillon, Virginia, Cavan, A82 XE97

Eddie Winterlich, Cranadillon, Virginia, Co. Cavan, and formerly of Murmod and Cavan Rd, Virginia, peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his wife Alice and brother Noel. Sadly missed by his daughter Erica, sons Eddie, Mark and John, sister Angela and brother Tony, grandchildren, son in law, daughters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his daughter’s (Erica Keogan) residence at Woodview, Cranadillon, Virginia (A82 XE97) this Tuesday evening from 5pm to 8pm, house private at all other times.

Departing from his residence this Wednesday, September 1st at 3.45pm with arrival at Mary Immaculate Church, Virginia, County Cavan for Funeral Mass at 4pm. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

The funeral mass will be held in compliance with Current Covid 19 guidelines. People are invited to form a guard of honour along the route of the funeral cortège as a mark of respect.

Sarah Browne (née Moore)

Coolatty, Smithborough, Monaghan

Peacefully, at home, on Sunday, 29th August 2021, in the loving care of her devoted family. Beloved wife of the late Matt.

Sarah will be dearly missed by her loving family, daughter Martina, sons John and Willie, son-in-law Jon ( Egerton), daughters-in-law Lillian and Doreen, also her cherished grandchildren Ryan, Lois, Darren, Rebecca, Evan, Reece, Matthew, Ethan and Leah, sisters Meta (Dunne, Armagh) and Jean (England) and the entire family circle. Pre-deceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Willie and Beth Moore and sister Florrie Faulkner.

Resting at her home, until removal on Wednesday, 1st September, at 1.30pm, for Funeral service in Smithborough Presbyterian Church at 2pm. Interment afterwards in the adjoining Churchyard.

Due to the current Covid restrictions, the house is strictly private and the funeral service is limited to family only. Those who wish to line the route may do so. Please adhere to the social distancing guidelines at all times.

Monaghan, peacefully surrounded by her loving family at her residence after a short illness, Sunday, 29th August 2021. Predeceased by her husband Paddy, parents Barney and Margaret, brother Pat and sister Mae. Katie will be dearly missed by her loving family, sons Tommie, Gerry and Paddy, daughter Pauline, son-in-law Mark, daughter-in-law Sharon and by her cherished grandchildren Alysa, Shane, Laura, Adam, Gavin, Katie (Caroline Hand), Ciara and Thomas, brother Phil (UK), sister-in-law Mary, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and her many good friends.

The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) Sherlock, Clarnagh, Tydavnet, Co.Monaghan. Monday 30th August peacefully at Drumbear Nursing Home, Monaghan.

Pre-deceased by his parents Patrick & Mary Ann Sherlock, sisters Mary (Annie) Sheridan, Ellie McCabe, Angela Regan and brother John Sherlock.
