Thieves hit gym for some heavy lifting

Gardaí seeking information in relation to the movements of a Ford Transit van

Gardaí in Monaghan are investigating the theft of a substantial amount of gym equipment from a business premises in the Farney county.

The incident occurred at the Monaghan Business Park on the Clones Road on Thursday, August 26, at approximately 12 noon.

The high-end fitness equipment reported stolen includes two Nordic Track treadmills, two Proform treadmills, two Nordic Track spin bikes and a Nordic Track upright bike.

Gardaí are also seeking information in relation to the movements of a Ford Transit van believed to have been seen in the vicinity prior to the thieves striking.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Monaghan are also investigating a burglary that occurred Saturday, August 28, when a private residence was broken into between 7:20pm and 10:20pm in the townland of Gallagh, Clontibret.

Assistance is also sought in tracing a bicycle and child seat stolen from the Oldcastle Road in Virginia overnight, between 8:30pm on August 25, and the following morning.
