Mercury could hit 26

Today promises to be a very pleasant day, so if you have the option it might be a good idea to take advantage of the good weather.

The satellite image of Ireland is very heartening with not a cloud in sight, but there is a warning that tomorrow may bring thundery showers.

The remaining mist and fog will continue to burn off through the rest of the morning, with widespread sunshine developing. Dry, humid and very warm today with top temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees, highest temperatures inland away from southern and eastern coastlines in light southeast breezes.

Dry and clear in a lot of areas to begin tonight, however showers will start to move into Munster from the southwest early in the night, extending northwards to affect parts of Connacht and Leinster towards dawn, some turning heavy with a possibility of thundery downpours. A very mild and muggy night with temperatures not falling below 13 to 17 degrees, in light easterly or variable winds.

Warm and humid tomorrow with scattered thundery showers, mixed with sunny spells. Turning cloudier later in the day as showers become more widespread and prolonged. Highest temperatures of 20 to 24 degrees in light to moderate southeast breeze.
