Eight strong Cavan team compete at National Championships

Loy diggers again dominate the Cavan team have headed to Co Laois for this year's scaled back National Ploughing Championships.

Normally the event would attract circa 300,000 over the three days, but this year all the stalls and sideshows have been stripped away leaving only the competitors to plough their own furrow.

Eight men will compete for Cavan, four of who are loy diggers at this, the 90th anniversary of the championships.
