50,000 vaccines given at Cavan centre

The milestone was marked this week.

The HSE has confirmed 50,000 Covid-19 vaccines have been administered at Cavan’s vaccination centre.

The milestone was marked by staff at the centre, based in the Hotel Kilmore.

The remarkable achievement comes as the centre only opened in April.

Aisling Duffy, Operational Site Manager at Cavan CVC told the Celt, “we were delighted to administer our 50,000th dose of the vaccine here”.

“We would like to encourage anyone who hasn’t received either their first or second dose to come to our clinic to receive them. There's no charge for getting your Covid-19 vaccine”, she said.

People can register for a vaccine on the HSE website.

Or people can walk-in to the centre on Wednesday (September 22) from 8.30am until 12.30pm, Friday (September 24) from 1pm to 7pm and on Saturday (September 25) and Sunday (September 26) from 8.30am to 12.30pm.

Anyone over the age of 12 is eligible for a vaccine.
