It is with regret that we note the following deaths in our community over the past few days, as reported on RIP.ie

Teresa Cooney

Clifferna, Stradone, Cavan / Milltown, Dublin

Suddenly at her residence. Dear sister of Brennie, Packie, Patricia, Gabriel and Declan. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Noeleen, Stephaine and Mary, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, aunts, uncle, cousins and many friends.

Rest in Peace.

Removal from her home tomorrow, Thursday, to arrive at St. Michael's Church, Clifferna for Funeral Mass at 1pm, burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Due to Covid regulations the house is strictly private please.

Eileen Joyce (née Lynch)

Carrick-O-Brien, Athlone, Westmeath / Belturbet, Cavan

Formerly of Drummullagh, Miltown, Belturbet, Co. Cavan. Peacefully on Tuesday 28th September 2021. Predeceased by her beloved husband Henry. Sadly missed by her loving sisters Bernadette (Barry) and Marian (Glynn), brothers Eamonn and Bryan, in-laws, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.

May She Rest In Peace.

Reposing at Flynn's Funeral Home, The Strand, Athlone (N37 E6K0) on Thursday evening from 3pm until 4-30pm. Reqiuem Mass on Friday in St. Mary's Church, Athlone (Church is limited to 50% capacity) at 11am followed by burial afterwards Coosan Cemetery.

Henny (Henry) Martin

Marahill, Killeshandra, Cavan

Henny Martin, Marahill, Killeshandra, County Cavan, 29th September 2021, peacefully at Cavan General Hospital, surrounded by family. Predeceased by his parents, brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by his neices, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Rest in Peace.

Brigid Taite (née Sheridan)

Lisnahederna, Virginia, Cavan

Peacefully, in her 93rd year, surrounded by her loving family, in the loving and exceptional care of the nurses and staff of St. Colmcille's Private Nursing Home, Kells, Co. Meath. Beloved wife of the late Paddy, predeceased by her son Noel, daughter Annette McGovern, son in law Patsy Hopkins and her grandson Adam Hopkins. Her siblings, Michael, Charlie and Rosaleen Donnellan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her children, Pairic, (Lisnahederna, Virginia) Marie, (Cornakill, Mullagh) Pauline Hopkins (Ashbourne) Sheila Connell (Ryefield, Virginia) and John (Crossreagh, Mullagh), daughters and sons in law, her adored 27 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sister in law, Marcella McIntyre, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace

Reposing at the home of her son and daughter in law, John and Ita Taite, Crossreagh, from today Wednesday 29th September, from 5pm. Requiem funeral Mass on Friday morning next, 1st October, at 11am in St. Mary's Church, Cross, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Margaret Mc Cabe (née McDermot)

Mount Lodge, Lisnalong, Monaghan / Ballinasloe, Galway

The death has occurred of Margaret Mc Cabe (nee McDermot) Mount Lodge, Lisnalong, Co. Monaghan and formerly Ballinasloe, Co.Galway, Tuesday, September 28th, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Margaret, predeceased by her husband Frank, deeply regretted and remembered with love by her family, sons Martin, Seamus and Brendan, daughters in-law Joanne and Jackie, grandchildren Aaron, Katelyn, Padraig and Sarah, brother in-law Pat (Carrickmacross), sisters in-law Rita Prendergast (Knockbridge) and Vera Mc Cabe (Cardiff), nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Margaret will repose at Wards Funeral Home, Ballybay (A75H585) Friday evening (Oct 1st) from 4pm until 8pm (please adhere to Covid 19 guide lines on social distancing). Margaret’s funeral cortège will travel from her late home in Mount Lodge on Saturday morning at 10:30am to arrive at St Mary’s Church, Latton for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.

Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to Cootehill Cancer Care and Palliative Care C/o Wards Funeral Home or by donation box. House private please. In accordance with most recent government guidelines the capacity of the Church is limited to 50%.
