Conditions will become milder from midweek with values well above average, but with some persistent falls of rain across Atlantic counties, according to the latest weather forecast from Met Éireann.

A fresh start to Tuesday with sunshine and scattered showers - some of which will be heavy. Mostly dry later though as showers become lighter and more isolated. Blustery, in a moderate to fresh and gusty northwest wind, easing later. Highest temperatures will range a seasonal 12 to 15 degrees Celsius.

Largely dry and clear for a time tonight with just light variable breezes. Turning cloudier later, as scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle move in across the western half of the country. Some mist and fog later too. Chilly under clearer skies with lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees Celsius.

Cloudy or overcast tomorrow (Wednesday) with scattered outbreak of rain and drizzle, persistent at times across the west and northwest. Hill and coastal fog too. Longer drier spells developing in parts later with some brighter spells breaking through; all the while staying driest in the east. Very mild and humid with highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius, in a moderate to fresh southerly breeze.

Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will continue overnight on Wednesday along with some hill and coastal fog. Mild with lowest temperatures of 11 to 15 degrees Celsius, in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Thursday is expected to be another dull day with outbreaks of rain, heavy and persistent across Atlantic counties. Some brighter spells across the midlands and east where it will stay driest. Warm and humid with highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees Celsius, in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

Further outbreaks of rain after dark on Thursday, heaviest all the while across Atlantic counties with the risk of spot flooding. Very mild and muggy with temperatures falling no lower than 14 or 15 degrees Celsius, in light to moderate southerly winds.

Outbreaks of rain will continue into Friday, the heaviest of it likely to persist across Atlantic counties with the ongoing risk of localised flooding. Hill and coastal fog too. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees Celsius; mildest, brightest and driest across eastern counties, all in a light to moderate southerly breeze.

Outbreaks of rain will lighten through the day on Saturday and will gradually clear eastwards into the Irish Sea. Low cloud will lift with some brighter spells developing from the west. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius, mildest in the west, in light southerly breezes.

Sunday is expected mostly dry with sunny spells. Feeling a little fresher with highs of 13 to 16 degrees Celsius, in light west to northwest breezes.
