VIDEO: Short film celebrates Pauline's talent

A beautiful film tribute to Cavan artist Pauline Halton, who sadly passed away earlier this year, has been posted online.

Across 10 minutes, the joyous magic of the Kilnaleck lady's craft is celebrated by a variety of figures in the local arts scene. It also includes snippets from Pauline herself, filmed at her Rose Cottage home.

A range of her paintings, all composed in her quirky individual style showcases her immense talent, brimming with energy, intense colours and love.

“Pauline Halton is the Patrick Kavanagh of Kilnaleck, she is queen of every blooming thing,” says former Cavan arts officer, Cliodhna Shaffrey.

The film was made by Cavan County Council Arts Office and Cavan County Museum with the assistance of the Halton Family, and was edited by Virginia film maker and actor Alan Bradley.

Pauline sadly passed away in March 2021.
