Bright day today but rain ahead

TODAY - MONDAY 25TH OCTOBER

Bright this morning with good sunny spells developing.

Scattered showers during the morning, mainly over the western half of the province and mostly dry further east, but the showers will extend further eastwards during the day before becoming more isolated during the evening.

Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in mostly moderate west to southwest winds.

TONIGHT

Tonight will be mostly dry to start with clear spells and just isolated showers but cloud will build from the west bringing outbreaks of rain and drizzle early in the night, heavy and persistent in places.

Lowest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees. Light to moderate southwesterly winds will freshen later, becoming strong on western coasts.

TOMORROW - TUESDAY 26TH OCTOBER

Tomorrow will be dull, mild and breezy. Mostly cloudy initially with outbreaks of rain over the northern half of the country clearing eastwards through the morning.

However, patchy light rain and drizzle will continue through the day though there will be good dry intervals too.

Later in the evening, a band of persistent rain will move in from the west.

Highest temperatures of 15 to 17 degrees in fresh to strong and gusty southwest winds, with gales developing on western coasts.
